Q: I was contacted by GraPar or a representative from GraPar, about a claim. The representative said I am owed money or I have uncollected funds. Is this legit?
A: In today's environment with what seems like daily reports of the latest online scams, it's perfectly reasonable to question the validity of a claim. The next question to ask is, are these companies asking for money or a fee upfront? GraPar Limited will never ask for any funds upfront. If a fee of any type is required to pursue your claim (which is rare), GraPar will fund the fee out of pocket. If our representatives are not able to assist with a claim, there is no cost.
Q: What is the claim regarding?
A: GraPar specializes in difficult-to-find claims. In the majority of cases, the money owed is not found on the free public search sites such as www.missingmoney.com. Many types of funds go unclaimed, ranging from bank accounts, stock dividend payments, uncashed checks, and insurance policies. GraPar specializes in not readily available claims and invests great resources and dedication to help ensure the funds do not "escheat."
Q: Why wasn't I notified in the first place?
A: Mostly, a conflict of interest. The agency in charge of funds puts in the bare minimum effort to contact the rightful owner. Eventually, the money escheats, where it is permanently forfeited to the agency holding the funds.
Q: How much time can go by before the funds are lost (statute of limitations)?
A: It can depend on the agency and state that is holding the funds, and how much time has already elapsed. We try to contact customers as soon as possible to verify the proper steps are taken in the correct order resulting in a successful claim. There are times when we have assisted customers to reclaim funds with only days left to do so. It is best not to delay as the process can be very complex, and time-consuming.
Q: Do I need GraPar to help with the claims, why don't I do it on my own?
A: The first step to claiming yourself is to know where the money is being held. Many claims are not easy to find, and if you were to find them, it's still a good idea to have an experienced 3rd party assist in the process. As stated, it's a conflict of interest for the agency to invest time in finding the rightful owner. Unclaimed funds escheat to the agency permanently if you do not follow all their rules and meet all their deadlines. Once the funds are escheated or forfeited to the agency, they are unrecoverable.
Q: How much does it cost to collect?
A: It depends on how complex the case is, the number of days left to claim, and the costs associated with fulfilling the claim. Any fees associated with the claim are included in our contingency fee. Most companies charge a very high upfront fee to assist in filing the claim, regardless if the claim is won or not. GraPar does not engage in this practice. Any out-of-pocket legal fees, filing fees, or any other miscellaneous fees are paid by GraPar.
Q: How before I see the recovered funds?
A: Many factors determine the length of time to fund recovery. Factors include the length of time left to claim funds, the complexity of the claim, and the laws governing the when and how the funds are released. We have successfully recovered funds in a matter of 2 weeks, with other claims taking as long as a year. Regardless of the length, our dedicated team will provide updates every step of the way. It is in everyone's best interest to pursue and finalize a claim as expeditiously as possible. GraPar's contingency applies only upon a successful fund recovery.
Q: This sounds like it could be complex, is a lawyer required?
A: In some cases, yes. If the case is complex enough, an attorney is required. If an attorney is required, GraPar covers the expenses. An attorney can be used privately to help you in claiming the funds, but we have found an attorney's fee to be exorbitant. Additionally, our experienced team of experts is familiar with the process and can help reunite funds owed to you more efficiently.
Q: What is the next step?
A: If you have received a letter in the mail or a phone call from GraPar, please contact us as soon as possible. We make the recovery process as seamless and effortless as possible.
